Palo Alto Firefighters Association

Firefighter Lee Taylor has been growing peppers in the fire station backyard since 1994. After each harvest, he would make his famous and zesty pepper sauce, which quickly became a hot commodity. After making the original for many years the firefighters wanted more heat and the XX Habanero and XXX Ghost versions were created. Using the highest quality ingredients, Lee has crafted the simplest ingredient list into complex, full flavor sauces that stand on their own and pair well with other foods. All profits go to Palo Alto Firefighters Charitable Fund. The fund supports local high school students with scholarships as well as supporting various community-based non-profits.

Café Kreyol

All our coffees are Direct Trade from farm to cup, and graded by licensed Q graders on staff. Farmers are then paid based on cupping scores, and rarity of their coffee. Consequently our coffee farmers make about 300% higher wages than the Fair Trade minimum. Click the button to find out more about our commitment to transparency.

Velton’s Coffee

Being a small roaster allows us the luxury of focusing on quality control at every turn. Only the highest quality beans are considered, and only the best of these will ever make it to the consumer. All of our coffee is roasted in small batches, hand blended, and promptly packaged in the highest quality bags (with one-way degassing valve) to ensure maximum freshness.

Equator Coffee & Teas

Equator believes that quality underlies economic and environmental sustainability, and this is the pillar of our approach. We support environmentally sound certifications, as well as practices that produce the highest quality coffee while securing a dignified life for those who produce it.

As the family business continued to expand, Dillanos grew from a tiny three-person outfit to a nationally recognized roaster with more than 1,500 customers across the country. Today, Dillanos employs more than 65 enthusiastic staff members and roasts for some of the country's most recognized specialty coffee brands and cafes. In the face of all this exciting growth, the Dillanos mission statement remains the same: Help People, Make Friends, Have Fun!
